Hello Gators,

Enjoy the weather while it’s cool.  It’s been a fabulous time of year, so let’s get outside and do our outdoor activities. 

It was a great Holiday Party.  We had 50 people signed up to celebrate the holidays.  We gave away many prizes in a drawing and a lot of lucky Gators are very happy with their Christmas prize. 

Our next General Meeting is on Thursday, January 9^th at Duffy’s on PGA and US 1.  Make sure you come and bring all your ski gear you no longer need, because we’re going to have a ski swap!  I am hoping to have Stan from Peter Glenn come to show us the new ski equipment and fashions.  I want to see everyone on January 9^th.  

 

Ski season is right around the corner.  Our first trip is January 18^th to Snowmass, so all of you lucky people on the trip will have a great time.

Our Iceland adventure was a huge hit with 27 Gators, and we returned home on October 30, 2024, with unforgettable memories!

After an overnight flight, we touched down in Reykjavik on Thursday, October 24th, where our excitement kicked off with a city exploration followed by a thrilling Lava Tube Tour.

The next day, we dove deeper into Reykjavik's history and charm, visiting landmarks like the iconic Hallgrimskirkja and the Pearl Museum, capped off with a chance to marvel at the Northern Lights.

The excitement didn’t stop there! Saturday brought us to Iceland's stunning landscapes, with a glacier hike and a tour through the breathtaking Snaefellsnes Peninsula, where we explored the majestic Kirkjufell and the striking Black Sand Beach.

On Sunday, we visited the awe-inspiring Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls before heading to Vik.  

Monday’s adventure took us along the Golden Circle, featuring the geothermal wonder of Geysir, the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, and the historical Thingvellir National Park.

Our final day, Tuesday, was spent discovering the Reykjanes Peninsula, including a relaxing soak in the world-famous Blue Lagoon, followed by a farewell dinner to toast to an amazing trip.

Message from the VP of Socials 

• Hello Fellow Gators!

   

  Now that we are in the holiday season, I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and a Happy New Year!

   

  We had a wonderful time at our annual Holiday Dinner last Saturday evening.  Everyone looked spectacular in their elegant attire.  The food was delicious, and it was great to see our old Gator friends and meet new ones.  I would like to thank Walter Marussich for helping me to transport the sound system and other items, and to set up.  

   

  The raffle was fun and exciting with the grand prize of $500 credit towards one Gator trip, as well as a number of other prizes.  I would like to thank Lisa Smelcher for soliciting the raffle donations and helping to sell them.
